Find the Right Yoga Class for You

Yoga
This class is like a yoga buffet. Practicing with the body you have today, you will explore nurturing, healing poses, as well as standing and balance poses that will make you feel strong and steady. Multiple variations of poses are offered. Empower yourself to find clarity and confidence!

Slow Flow
Slow flow offers you the opportunity to calm the chatter in your mind and stretch out the stiffness in your body. This class is not as fast paced as Living Well “yoga” classes, but may incorporate balance, stability, stretching and breathwork. This is a gentle yoga class that allows to ease the mind while releasing tension from the body.

Restorative Yoga
This class is all about mindfulness and breathwork. Using bolsters, blocks and blankets, we will settle into restorative poses and hold them for several minutes. Through breath and gentle movement, the body and mind begin to shift from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest.” Restorative yoga can help with stress reduction, anxiety reduction and improve sleep quality.

Somatic Practice
This 45-minute class will guide attendees through mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, grounding practices, exploring movement with breath, body scans, guided meditation, and more. This is an interactive class & all levels are welcome. Questions are welcome, and open discussion is encouraged as we explore these practices together. Can be done on a mat or in a chair.
Private, Individual, & Group Yoga Sessions
An individual session is customized to your needs. In this private session, an experienced yoga instructor will work with you to breathe, stretch, balance, and move at a pace that is comfortable for you. Let your instructor know what you need!
Group sessions are available for groups of 2-20, so bring your family, book club, wedding party, or work colleagues and experience a yoga class designed specifically for your group.

Yoga FAQ

What are the benefits of yoga?
Consistent yoga practice can improve balance and flexibility. It can also help you feel more comfortable and at home in your body. In addition to the physical benefits, yoga helps with stress management and can improve mental well-being. The process of moving and breathing allows your central nervous system to shift from sympathetic mode (fight/flight/freeze) to parasympathetic mode (rest/digest). Additional documented benefits of yoga include improved sleep, reduction of pain, stabilization of blood pressure, reduced inflammation, and relief from depression and anxiety.

What is proper yoga etiquette at Living Well?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class time. The doors will be locked at class time. If, for any reason, you need to leave early on a particular day, please notify your instructor prior to the beginning of class and slip out quietly prior to final relaxation time (savasana). Please respect the instructor and other students by leaving your phone in your car or turning it off. If you have a smart watch, please set it to Do Not Disturb. Please leave shoes, purses, and other belongings not necessary to your yoga practice in the designated cubbies near the door. Please do not step on any mat other than your own. Stepping on someone’s mat is a sign of disrespect. Please do not wear perfume in the yoga space.

How do I know if yoga is right for me?
Our motto at Living Well is, “practice with the body you have today.” You don’t have to work your way into practice. Start where you are, do all you are able, and watch the changes take hold.
